Scary Grilled Foods and Butcher Costumes – A TCG Halloween

Halloween is Tuesday but the world of barbeque is not afraid. Here at The Companion Group, we are preparing for a day of festivities with decorated cubicles, costumes, and a potluck. As per tradition, the scary themes around the office revolve around the tools we have on hand. That means you can probably expect to see some scary renditions of a zombie pizza chef and some Frankenstein pitmasters. Luckily, the tools we have are also great for cooking up some scary grilled and baked foods. Here are some of the scary ideas we have for the grill this Halloween!

  1. Missing a Finger Hotdogs

If you’re looking for a creepy yet easy food for Halloween the severed finger hot dog is a great idea. Boil a few hot dogs in a large pot and then slice off a small portion off the top end of the hot dog to look like the fingernail. Traditional hot dogs will look best as they will be slightly lighter inside making the small slice look like the fingernail. Fully slice off the opposite end to make it look like some poor soul lost a finger in the bun. For a more detailed touch, you can cut wrinkles into the knuckles and add chicken bones for effect.

  1. Heart Meat Pizza

A heart meat pizza is the most literally scary creation we have in mind. There are no tricks for this one, pork heart is just another muscle after all! Ask your local butcher for some pork heart and simply use the ground heart for the meat topping. We already tried this one out, for a full recipe check out Lahmacun creation: https://www.pizzacraft.com/blogs/pizzacraft-blog/lahmacun-halloween-recipe

  1. Grilled Bat Wings

Here is another trick we have in mind. If you are out of bat wings, throw some chicken wings on the grill. Once they are nice and crispy you can mix a little bit of barbecue sauce with black food coloring. Brush the black barbecue sauce on the wings for some gooey bat wing appetizers.  https://www.instagram.com/p/BatwQYAlZSO/?hl=en&taken-by=thecompaniongroup

4. Rib Cage Operation

If you’re looking for a full feast try grilling two full racks of ribs. When the ribs are done to your liking you can cut a half inch of meat off each end of the rib to expose some white bone. Place the ribs next to each other with some ketchup dipping sauce in the middle to give the feast a full chest cavity look.

  1. Eyeball Sandwich

For a few eyeball sandwiches or even a couple eyeball appetizers, you can use meatballs cheese and olives to create a large rotting eye. Take your favorite white cheese and cut an inch diameter circle out of the cheese. Next cut a black olive in quarters leaving the center whole intact. To create the eye use the meatball as a base and place the piece of cheese on top with the olive slice on top of that. The finished product will look like a large eye.

Make the grill part of this Halloween and try to scare your guests with these tasty tricks and treats. If these meat options aren’t what you are looking for you can always create some spooky baked goods using one of the many Pizzacraft baking accessories.
