How to Cook Breakfast on the Grill

You may have your steaks and burgers on lock, but how’s your breakfast game? Cooking breakfast or brunch on the grill takes a new learning curve. You can’t crack an egg on a grill grate or fry bacon directly over a gas burner. You need to adapt your morning routine to fit the strengths of your grill. To do this, Charcoal Companion has created a few tips and tricks to make your grill breakfast ready.

Tip 1.  It’s Still a Grill

Don’t bring your kitchen frying pan outside to cook a pancake on the grill. This is just wrong. There are easier ways to cook up a couple eggs or a few pancakes without making a mess of your grill grates. One of your grills strongest attributes is that is has a hood that can be closed to create circulating heat. When you’re cooking breakfast you want to use this to your advantage. Try using some flex grill sheets CC4154 to act as a griddle. This way you can simply crack an egg or flop a pancake directly on the flat surface. This method will allow you to utilize the heat of the grill while having a surface that keeps all the flavors of your food and can be easily removed for cleaning.

Tip 2. A Bacon Grease Solution

One of the hardest parts of cooking a good strip of bacon is dealing with all the residual grease. When cooking bacon on the grill you defiantly don’t want all that grease dripping down onto your grill’s burners. This can be dangerous and make for a messy cleanup. A great solution to this problem is a steel bacon rack CC3123. The bacon rack allows you to cook a few pieces of bacon on the grill while collecting all the grease at the same time.

Tip 3. Get a Griddle

When you’re going for an all-out breakfast buffet you are going to want to handle all your dishes at the same time. The best way to do this is to transform your grill into a griddle. Using a stainless steel pro griddle CC3509 you can easily transform half your grill into a flat evenly heated grilling surface. This makes breakfast easy as the griddle collects all runoff grease while making flipping and turning food a fast production.
